Howick Street / High Street junction - proposed restrictions to the right turn
This consultation has concluded. You can still view comments and read associated documents.
To increase safety for school children crossing at the 'school crossing' along High Street, the Launceston City Council proposes to restrict the hours when motorists can turn right from Howick Street into High Street.
The no right turn restrictions would be: between 8.00am and 9.15am and 2.50pm and 3.30pm - school days only - the same time the school crossing patrol officer is at the crossing.
Have your say on this proposal. Go to the forum page, have a look at the drawing in the library, join in a conversaton with others or, just tell us your thoughts. What do you think of these plans?

Launceston Draft Strategic Tourism Plan
In October 2011 the Launceston City Council, with support from Tourism Tasmania, commissioned the Stafford Group to develop a long term strategic plan for tourism in Launceston with a specific focus on the Council's role in tourism.
Following industry and stakeholder consultation the draft Plan has been prepared and we would be delighted to receive your feedback.
Go to the forum page to download the draft Plan, complete a quick poll and join in the discussion with your thoughts on Launceston's priority tourism activities.

Have your say about Launceston's Draft Street Tree Strategy 2011
Launceston City Council invites you to have your say about Launceston's Draft Street Tree Strategy 2011. We have a vision for Launceston and that is for 'a liveable green network with attractive and useable tree lined streets connecting areas of interest for all road and footpath users to safely experience and explore the city.'
A draft strategy has been developed, guided by the Street Tree Advisory Committee so that a strategic approach can be carried out in the future planting of trees in and around Launceston. It is a working document and will be subject to continual review with a major review at the end of ten years.
Have your say in our discussion forum and help make the draft Street Tree Strategy a reality!
