Consultation has concluded
It's budget time at the City of Launceston and we want to hear from you now so that the Aldermen have time to consider your ideas before the 2016/17 budget is finalised.
In the upcoming 2016/17 financial year, three major capital projects will be undertaken by the City of Launceston. These include the City Heart Project, the Northbank Redevelopment Project and a continuation of the Stormwater Urban Upgrade Program. These projects will have a major impact on Launceston's sustainability as a vibrant and dynamic city.
Each of these projects have undergone separate consultation processes and significant grants have already been committed from various levels of Government for the Northbank Redevelopment Project and the Stormwater Urban Upgrade Program.
Given the commitment that these major projects will require by Council employees, it is by necessity that a reduced number of smaller capital projects will be undertaken in the upcoming financial year.
However, we welcome your ideas for smaller capital projects (up to an approximate value of $25,000) that you think would be of benefit to the Launceston community. It doesn't matter how small - we want to hear from you. Your ideas will then be provided to the Aldermen for consideration at their meeting on Thursday 3 March 2016. While these projects are comparatively small compared to the major capital projects the City undertakes, we have found that projects initiated by the community often have a benefit far in excess of their cost.
Please provide us with feedback by:
Using the new BRAINSTORMER Tool to tell us what your ideas are. This new tool lets you see everyone's ideas and 'like' the ones you think will be of benefit to the community.
Tell us your idea/s and complete the survey and go into the draw to WIN one of two double passes for the Hawthorn vs St Kilda AFl match at Aurora Stadium in the Eastern Terrace on Saturday 16 April at 2.10pm
Remember - don't leave everything for our budget consultation period. There may be things we can help you with throughout the year.
Contact us: At our Town Hall Customer Service Centre in St John Street By phoning us on 03 6323 3000 By emailing contactus@launceston.tas.gov.au Downloading the FREE Snap Send Solve app. (This allows you to send photos via your mobile and report on issues such as litter, broken pavements, damaged playground equipment as well as general feedback, all in under 30 seconds).
