Launceston. What does it mean to you?

The City of Launceston has embarked on a major project to understand this place's authentic identity: who we are, what we do, what we like, what we don’t like. In essence, what makes 'Lonnie' unique?

We've done this work to define our place brand.

A place brand is much more than a logo: it is a unifying cultural expression and adds value and pride to a place.

The project began with broad consultation with community groups, business owners, service providers and residents. Through countless conversations, a layered and intriguing story of a small city with significant natural, cultural and edible assets and experiences, emerged.

Read about project milestones in the timeline section of this page. Now, we're in the creative phase of this project, where we work to present this research in a toolkit for our community to use.

We've reached a refined concept and want to know what you think about it. Your feedback will be considered as we near the final stages of this exciting project that's set to inform a broad scope of planning around tourism, events, investment and population growth.

So follow the links below and help shape the Launceston brand.

Please contact the project team with any questions. Thank you!
