The City of Launceston wants to know how we can better engage Launceston's young people.

The Draft Youth Engagement Framework 2015-17 aims to provide a strategic approach to our youth engagement in order to ensure that young people's diverse views, experiences and needs are valued and incorporated into our strategic planning.

This in turn will ensure that young people are at the centre of the policies, strategies, services and activities that are developed for them, and that young people are enabled and empowered to actively participate and take charge of their lives.

The Draft Framework incorporates our Vision, Aim, Values and Goals, and includes an Action Plan 2015/16 to describe how we will achieve these Goals. These have been developed in early consultations with over 250 community members, most of whom are young people aged 12-25.

We now seek broader input into the Draft Framework from young people, agencies that work with young people, and other members of our community.

There are many ways to have your say:

  1. Take the YOUTH SURVEY if you are between 12 and 25 years of age
  2. If you work with young people or are involved with youth in any way, or if you are one of the young people, you can JOIN IN A CONVERSATION with others or, just RESPOND TO THE SECTION QUESTIONS
  3. You can also WRITE TO US at the City of Launceston, PO Box 396, Launceston, Tas 7250.

If you would like to talk to someone, please call Tamara Clark, Youth Development Officer on 03 6323 3219 or email Tamara at tamara.clark@launceston.tas.gov.au
