The Launceston City Council has a responsibility to look after our community.

In Launceston there are a variety of natural hazard risks and these have been identified in the DRAFT Emergency Risk Register.

The Emergency Risk Register is a document that has been put together by local emergency management council employees, and endorsed by the Council's Emergency Management Committee so that the Council can work on reducing the risks before emergencies occur.

This is a list of major risks that would potentially impact on the community at large, socially, economically and that would cause a risk to human lives. The top four risks identified as posing the highest risk to Launceston and its residents were, flooding, wildfire, storms and human disease.
